Mark is a Public Safety Officer and Shop Steward.  He is dedicated to his job and as a Shop Steward is always there for his members to keep them informed of all activities with Local 237.  As well as helping his colleagues when it is needed, we could not have a better person to represent Local 237 and our members. | Hospital Police Officer Pepe Ramos, Queens General Hospital.  Officer Pepe Ramos has been our shop steward at Queens General Hospital for 4 years and continues to be a great bridge between the members at his location and the union hall.

(l-r) Caretaker J Frank Wright, Chelsea Houses.  Since the start of Frank Wright’s career in 2021, he has been a true advocate for his fellow coworkers.  Frank is not only the shop steward, but he is also the safety associate.  He is passionate about safety and worker’s rights.  Frank is loved and respected by everyone he works with and always finds ways to uplift those around him. | Caretaker J Roslyn Reed, Butler Houses. Let’s shout out shop steward and caretaker J, Roslyn Reed of Butler Houses for her dedication to the membership.  As a member of over 14 years, Roslyn is known for fighting for equality in her location since October 2023.

Ms. Vido is an advocate on behalf of her colleagues and has been very active with our Shop Steward training. | Cook Oshane Miller, Department of Corrections. Mr. Miller can answer any questions pertaining to safety in the kitchen.   He ensures that his coworkers adhere to the Union’s principles and that there is solidarity amongst them.

Martin has been a dedicated shop steward with the citywide department for 7 years and enjoys being the bridge of communication among his peers and the union hall.   |   Maintenance Worker Bridget Price, Department of Sanitation. Bridget Price is a new dedicated shop steward with the citywide division who transferred over from the NYCHA organization, becoming the only African American woman in the Maintenance Department at the Department of Sanitation.

Dashawn Hightower, Shop Steward and Safety Associate at Clermont Houses, has identified rat issues affecting the residents in a particular building. His efforts helped to get the tenants into a temporary location. Safety is a big issue of concern for many members at NYCHA, and Dashawn’s proactive stance to address problems helps lead to safe conditions for residents and members alike. |  Newly elected Shop Steward CUNY Specialist Gustavo Bermudez from New York City Technical College.
